Rice Kheer

Ingredients

  • 1-liter Full Cream Milk
  • ¼ cup Basmati Rice
  • ½ cup Mawana Premium Crystal Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon Cardamom Powder (Elachi)
  • 10 Raisins (Kismis)
  • 8 chopped Almonds (Badam)
  • 8 chopped Pistachios (Pista)
  • Saffron (Kesar)

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the rice in water for 10-15 minutes.
  2. In a pan boil milk. Add rice to the boiling milk. Let it simmer on low heat for 30-40 minutes
  3. Now add sugar to it. Keep mixing till the sugar dissolves completely, for around 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add cardamom powder, raisins, almonds, pistachios and simmer on a slow flame for a couple of minutes more.
  5. Turn off the flame and let it cool. Serve chilled or hot. Garnish with saffron.
